Women Liberal Democrats began in 1887 as the Women's Liberal Federation. We are a membership organisation open to all Party members, both women and men. Our Constitution pledges us to eliminate all inequality based upon gender.

Why should you join the Women Liberal Democrats?
Because women still do not have an equal voice in Parliament, in our local Councils, nor in the Liberal Democrat Party itself. We are changing this by:
-
Organising seminars, fringe meetings, workshops and training sessions
-
Encouraging women to become and remain active members of the party
-
Supporting women candidates at national and local level
-
Putting forward Policy Motions to Conference
-
Campaigning on issues which affect women's lives
Something of interest....
Tue 18th May 2010
'Women, Power and Politics' will trace the history of women from Elizabeth I, through the Suffragettes, the Thatcher years, Greenham Common, to women in politics today, asking why women are so badly underrepresented in government. Tying in with these themes is a film season, debates and an art exhibition.
