Nick Clegg MP

The Spring Newsletter is finally finished and will soon be on its way to members of WLD.

This quarter the newsletter is packed with stories of campaigning and info!

Below is sneak preview of our exclusive interview with Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg.

Q and A With Nick Clegg

With the general election only a few months away, what are your hopes for the party?

Obviously, I want to see as many Liberal Democrat votes and seats as possible! At a time when people are struggling, when many fear for their jobs and their homes and when faith in politics is at an all time low, our message of fairness - in our tax system, for our children, in our economy and in our politics - is more relevant than ever.

Currently there are 9 female Lib Dem MPs, what are your ambitions for the election of women candidates in the coming elections?

I want to see significantly more female Liberal Democrat MPs in the next Parliament - as many as possible - and I'm confident that there will be more. I do know, though, that it won't be enough and we'll have to redouble our efforts in the next Parliament. I won't be satisfied until our parliamentary party looks like the country it seeks to represent!
